Head to your dashboard and click the join zoom button!

If the link doesn’t open Zoom, open the Zoom app and enter the Meeting ID + Passcode.

First time on Zoom?

  1. Install Zoom (mobile: App Store/Google Play; desktop: zoom.us/download).
  2. Create (or sign into) a Zoom account if you’re asked.
  3. Click “Join Zoom Meeting.” Allow the app to open.
  4. Choose your audio: “Join with Computer Audio” (desktop) or “Call using Internet Audio” (mobile).
  5. Camera optional: You’re welcome to keep video off if you prefer.

Tip: Join 5 minutes early the first time so you can test your mic and speakers.

Troubleshooting (Most Common Fixes)

🔇 I can’t hear anyone
  • Check your device volume and ensure headphones/speakers are selected in Zoom’s audio menu (small arrow next to the mic icon).
  • Leave and rejoin the meeting; then choose “Join with Computer/Internet Audio.”
  • Run Zoom’s test meeting to verify audio works.
🎤 They can’t hear me
  • Unmute in Zoom; check the correct microphone is selected (arrow next to mic).
  • Close other apps using the mic (Teams, Meet, DAWs) and rejoin.
  • On iOS/Android, grant the Zoom app microphone permission in Settings.
📷 Camera not working
  • Turn video on in Zoom; select the right camera (arrow next to camera icon).
  • Close other camera apps (FaceTime, Teams) that might be “holding” the camera.
  • On mobile, allow Camera permission in Settings for Zoom.
🌐 “Your connection is unstable”
  • Move closer to your router or switch to wired (Ethernet) if possible.
  • Ask others to pause large downloads/streams while you’re in the session.
  • Turn your camera off to reduce bandwidth usage.
🔗 Link won’t open the app
  • Copy the Meeting ID and Passcode into the Zoom app manually.
  • Try another browser (Chrome/Edge/Safari) or update your current browser.
  • Reinstall the Zoom app if it’s outdated or corrupted.
🪪 Name showing wrong / want to change it
  • Click the “Participants” panel > hover your name > “Rename.”
  • Or leave, update your Zoom profile name, and rejoin.

iPhone / iPad (iOS)

  1. Install Zoom from the App Store.
  2. Tap the meeting link → “Open in Zoom.”
  3. Choose “Call using Internet Audio.”

Android

  1. Install Zoom from Google Play.
  2. Tap the meeting link → “Open in Zoom.”
  3. Choose “Join with Audio.”

Windows / Mac

  1. Install the Zoom app from zoom.us/download.
  2. Click “Join Zoom Meeting” → allow the app to open.
  3. Click “Join with Computer Audio.”

No app? Use your browser

  1. Open the meeting link.
  2. Look for “Join from your browser.”
  3. Allow mic/camera if prompted.

Group Norms & Privacy

  • Confidentiality: What’s shared in Mendis stays in Mendis.
  • Camera optional: Keep video off if you prefer—your call.
  • Be present: Find a quiet spot, wear headphones if you can.
  • One mic at a time: Use mute when not talking.

Please don’t record sessions. If you need a follow-up or resources, ask the host.
